Rewind Review: Local Woman Missing by Mary Kubica
Local Woman Missing by Mary Kubica is the story of Meredith Dickey and her daughter Delilah, who both go missing from their formerly peaceful community many years ago. To make matters even more terrifying, another woman goes missing around the same time. When only Delilah reappears many years later, everyone involved in the case is forced to face their trauma and to find out what really happened to these women.
Told in a series of flashbacks spanning from past to present, and in different voices involved in the story, including Meredith, her neighbors and more, Kubica excellently reveals the truth and how the stories between these women are connected. To me, she picks just the right people in the story to help navigate you through and build suspense leading towards a stunning and shocking finish.
The novel moves along at a thrillingly brisk pace and I can’t remember a book as of recently that I feel this addicted to reading. I could not anticipate the twists and turns and that made it all even more exciting.
This is my first book by Mary Kubica and I can’t
wait to read another one.
